HeliWX — helicopter weather briefing
HeliWX is designed to collect as little data as possible. We do not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking of any kind. This page explains what is stored and why.
What we store on your device
- Device identifier — one first-party cookie (
hwx_device_id) that lets the app remember your airports and configurations without an account. - Your settings & sign-in session — stored in your browser's local storage so the app works offline and keeps you signed in.
- Performance — to keep the app fast and light, the interface and recently viewed data are cached on your device so it loads instantly and uses less data. Weather is always re-fetched when you are online, so you never rely on outdated reports.
These are strictly necessary for the app to function and stay on your device. We do not use any cookies for advertising or tracking, so no consent banner is required.
When you create an account
If you sign up, we store your email address and account/subscription status to provide the service. Anonymous profiles (no account) are automatically deleted after 90 days of inactivity.
Service providers
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing, used only if you subscribe. Stripe may set its own cookies on its checkout pages for fraud prevention.
- Aviation weather sources — public METAR/TAF data providers, queried to build your briefing.
Your rights & contact
You can clear all locally stored data at any time from your browser settings, and request access to or deletion of your account data by contacting us at contact@heliwx.app.
